Ivan Palazzase is born at Alba Adriatica in 1962; when he was a young boy the family emigrated to Venezuela, where his huge passion to motorcycles arose.
In 1977 in fact he starts in the world of motorcycles of class 125 becoming the youngest to get podium, winning the third position of GP of Venezuela.
Anyhow the 1982 is his best year because he wins the two GPs of Sweden and Finland in class 125, and the year after he passes to class 250 in the Venemotos team ‘ riding’ a Yamaha. But it is not his best period, in fact he succeeds to get just one podium, 2nd position in Holland; for this reason he renounces to Venemotos Team in 1985 to enter to Group Aprilia. Unfortunately his promising career is interrupted suddenly on 28/05/1989 because of a bad incident that took also his life. We are in the second round of GP in Germany at Hockenheim when Ivan, to avoid an Austrian motorcyclist felt down , clashes with Fabio Barchitta; in all this confusion unfortunately Bruno Bonhuil overrides him roughly. In the meantime the competition continues and the pilots have to pay attention to avoid the proper colleagues and the other motorcycles stopped, only Virgilio Ferrari, as soon as sees his friend down in bad conditions, stops immediately the run with his motorcycle and practices to Ivan a desperate cardiac massage on asphalt of the track. Unfortunately all is useless, Ivan Palazzese dies in helicopter of First Aid at only 27 years age. Alba Adriatica remembers him for ever by a monument in his honor.
